Steam’s Indie Spring Sale Now On Until March 29, Offers Savings Of Up To 80% [Updates]

Steam’s Indie Spring Sale Now On Until March 29, Offers Savings Of Up To 80% [Updates]

Steam has kicked off another of its trademark sales with savings of up to 80% on certain titles. The latest sale focuses on independent games, and gamers can expect the usual Steam bargains on hundreds of titles from small publishers and upcoming developers until the promotions end on March 29.

Taking cues from two important events on the gaming calendar, the on-demand gaming service has created two pages to showcase titles featured at the Independent Games Festival and Penny Arcade’s PAX East event. Some of the highlights include a whopping 75% off the Xbox Live Arcade hit Deadlight (now $ 3.74) and fan favorite Garry’s Mod (down to $ 2.49).

All of the featured titles are available for the Windows platform, with an increasing amount available for Mac OS X gamers too. Linux users have a much more restricted sale line-up to choose from, though there are a handful of reduced titles listed on the Steam for Linux page.

This week’s sale isn’t quite on the same scale as the sensational Christmas promotions that resonate so well with fans, but there is enough gaming meat and gravy here to see bargain hunters through to the summer promotions in a few months.

Purchasing and playing games on Steam requires a Steam account and the Steam client for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, which can be downloaded for free from Steam’s download page. To start hunting for bargains, check out the Steam Indie Spring Sale.

Did you find any great bargains?
