Clearing Skype History in Desktop Version
1. Open Skype desktop version on your computer and click on Toolsâ€">Options to open Skype Configuration Windows. Here you can change any settings related to Skype.
2. In Skype Settings, navigate to Privacy Settings. Here you can change all the privacy related option to Skype. For example, if you don’t want anyone other than the people in your contact list call you, you can select the option, Allow calls from people in my Contact list only. Now to clear the history, simply click on the Clear History button under the Keep history for section. This will delete the entire Skype conversation history from the account.
3. If you don’t want to delete the entire history, you can select some of the pre-defined time period like 1 week, two weeks and so on before clearing the history. You can also delete Skype cookies from your browser if you may like.

Clearing Skype History in Modern Version
1. Launch the Modern Skype app on your computer and wait for it to initialize. After the app’s initialized, open the in-app Charm bar and click on Settings. You either use gesture to open the Charm menu or you can use the hotkey Windows+C.
2. Here click on Options to open Modern Skype options.
3. Here, look for the button Clear History and click on it to delete the entire chat history form the app. Unlike the desktop version, Modern version doesn’t give the option to select time period to delete the history and thus clearing the entire history is the only option left with you.
