If you use the Google search by image function quite often, you know that it can take a few steps to get to your final results. You must go to Google Images, click on the camera icon in the search bar, and then upload an image from your computer or insert an image URL.
This isnât a difficult process, but it can be a little time consuming if youâre doing this often enough. Wouldnât it be easier if you could initiate a Google search for any image, right on its respective Web page? Thatâs where the Search by Image Chrome extension really comes in han dy.
Letâs see how this extension makes the Google search by image function even easier.
Getting Started
1. Install the Search by Image extension from the Chrome Web Store.
2. From the Extensions page, click on options for the Search by Image extension.
3. On the options page, you can show or hide the camera icon when hovering over any image. If you choose to hide the camera icon, youâll still be able to search Google by image (via right-click).
4. Thereâs also an option to only show the camera icon for images larger than 45 x 45, 80 x 80, or 150 x 150.
Searching by Image
Go to any Web page and scroll your mouse over an image. If you have the camera icon enabled, you should see it appear in the bottom right corner of the image. If you have the camera icon disabled, right-click on the image and you should see a âSearch Google with this imageâ option.
When you click on the camera icon, or right-click, Google search by image will open in a new tab, and youâll see your results.
As you can see, this extension cuts down on steps needed to search Google by image. Not only is it convenient, but itâs easily accessible and easy to use.
