Pinterest Launches Web Analytics & A Sneak Peek Into Its Brand New Look [Updates]

Pinterest has introduces Web analytics, helping website owners get a better idea of what content is being pinned from their site. The newly introduced feature could help you answer the simplest question â€" “how is Pinterest affecting my website?”. Aside from knowing which content is being pinned, you, as website owners, will be able to find out how these pins are doing on Pinterest, and how users are interacting with them once they’ve been pinned. The new analytic feature is available only forverified website owners on Pinterest. As a verified owner, you also get early access to Pinterest’s new look.

The new analytics can provide interesting insights into how and where people see your content. For example, you can find out what boards are used for pinning your content, how many users see it and click on it on each board, etc. If you own a brand or an eCommerce store, knowing which of your pins is being favored over the others, and which boards your content is being pinned on, could tell you a lot about your product and how other people see it. You can also finetune your actual Pinterest boards by going into the repinning trends over time. The breakdown of the data on ‘digital footfalls’ on your site can be an indicator of what you are doing right (or wrong) with your marketing.

The new Pinterest Web Analytics dashboard is easy enough to understand at a glance. You can apply date ranges and even download the data to pore through them on your own time. The Web Analytics tool is a power feature, and with the growth spurt of Pinterest, it gives us a few clues as to how they are evolving their strategy.

In order to get access to Pinterest’s Web analytics tool, you need to verify your website on Pinterest, switch to the new look, and then click on “Analytics” in the top right menu. According to Pinterest, the new look is currently available only for verified website owners or business users, but you can try your luck by clicking on the top right menu and choosing “Switch to the new look”. The new look is a facelift of the old one, with slickers frames and toolbars, but not much of a difference when it comes to actual content.

What do you think of the new look? Do you find the new analytics helpful?
