Now, mind mapping works well with everything you’re doing with your blogging activities. How? Well, things work well when you carefully plan out everything. The most complex activities, even blogging, require strategic thinking if you want to succeed in what you’re aiming for.

The Meaning of Mind Mapping

First, let’s begin by defining what mind mapping is. To put it simply, it’s a way to create a visual diagram to outline information. It begins with a single object or text placed in the center of a presentation and branches out with associated words and concepts.

How Mind Mapping Helps in Blogging

Mind mapping is a very powerful in plotting ideas.

There are times when you have too much information stored in your head and you just can’t find where to start. With having a visual representation of your thoughts, you can plot out everything you’re thinking of. Start out with your general idea and expand it with the thoughts in your mind.

You can even discover tens to hundreds of blog posts whenever you utilize mind mapping.

  1. Start with a pen and paper or anything you can write with.
  2. Write down any topic you’re currently thinking about. Now, these topics will be branching out to hundreds of ideas, data, and information that you think you have to use in order to write your article. Your train of thought can be limitless especially if you’re thinking of so many things.
  3. Organize by sorting out which ideas are essential for future topics and save them.

Here’s another example:

  1. Read your 5 latest articles and write down their titles.
  2. Next, begin brainstorming. Be creative, your ideas can be anything. Cover your title again with a different angle, take the opposite side, write another article that responds to your readers’ comments and questions, make an opinion piece, or make a follow-up especially if it’s a news article. This way, you’ll never run out of articles to write.

Now, there will be times when you’re faced with writer’s block and you can’t begin writing about a given topic.  Here’s a way to solve this:

  1. Start with writing down the topic and associate any idea you can think of.
  2. Next, filter the ideas by choosing which are relevant and valuable, too much information may lead to an inconsistent and messy article.
  3. When done, write about your thoughts about the ideas you’ve produced.

The key here is to just keep your mind running with valuable thoughts instead of staring at your blank sheet of paper aimlessly. Next thing you’ll know, you have an inexhaustible supply of ideas to fuel your mind.
